Electronic invoicing (e-invoicing)

It is the process of creating, sending and receiving invoices electronically. Using a computer system that allows issuing, sharing and saving invoices and notifications electronically or printing them to replace traditional paper invoices. Electronic invoices have many benefits compared to paper invoices, including reduced errors, time savings, and improved cash flow.

It is an invoice issued using an electronic invoicing system and must contain the requirements of the electronic invoice announced by the Zakat and Tax Authority.

E-invoices have two types:

Tax Invoice

It is the invoice that is issued by one establishment to another establishment (B2B). For example, wholesale sector.

Simplified Tax Invoice

It is the invoice that is issued from an establishment to an individual, the retail sector (B2C). In most cases, it is not required to include the buyer’s information.

Electronic invoicing phases
